Lead ActionAid’s innovative project on young urban women’s life choice and livelihoods! Over the next three years ActionAid will implement a ground-breaking project that focuses on young women from the age of 15-25 who are living in poor urban areas in Ghana, India and South Africa. The project will explore the intersection between women’s sexual and reproductive health rights and their right to decent work. The aim of the project is to support young women to organise and mobilise so that they can address the barriers that are affecting their life choices and livelihoods such as early marriage, access to contraception, unemployment and unfair working conditions.
ActionAid is looking for a dynamic project manager with considerable experience working with young women on issues such as sexual and reproductive health and workers’ rights or managing projects on similar or related themes. The project manager will provide leadership and guide the project’s implementation in Ghana, India and South Africa. A key part of this project will be to collaborate with international policy makers, civil society organisations and research institutes working on youth rights, SRHR and workers’ rights. The project manager will also have budgetary and reporting responsibilities. This is a perfect role for an experienced project manager with proven expertise working with young women, the ability to support work in diverse settings and the ability to build new partnerships across different countries and policy contexts.
