The Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) is one of the special public universities in Kenya.
TU-K offers education and training that is focused on application of technological knowledge and skills.
The University engages in innovation and research with a keen sense of application of such research in the solution of societal problems.
The University wishes to recruit the following:
Director, Institutional Advancement and Development
Grade 15Ref No: AD/0008/14
The Director, Institutional Advancement and Development is responsible to Management and Vice-Chancellor, through the Deputy
Vice-Chancellor, Technology, Innovation and Partnerships, and shall be in charge of the management of the following functions:
  • The institution’s marketing and branding activities
  • The University’s foundation and endowments; and
  • The alumni and donor relations.
Applicants should be Kenyan citizens with a relevant PhD degree from a recognized university.
They should have at least twelve years’ relevant work experience, the last three of which should be at senior administrative level in a university or equivalent position in a comparable organization.
Those who possess relevant Master’s Degree with at least fifteen years’ work experience, the last three of which should be at senior administrative level, will also be considered.
In addition, he/she should have highly developed and persuasive communication skills with a natural ability to network and build relationships with people at all levels.
Strong project management and analytical skills are essential to succeed in this post.
Terms and Conditions
Successful applicants will be offered a competitive remuneration package which includes basic salary, allowances and medical cover as per the Technical University of Kenya Medical Scheme and the Kenya Government Public Service guidelines.
The salary entry point will depend on qualification and experience of the applicant.Application GuidelinesApplicants should submit ten (10) copies of application letter accompanied by copies of relevant certificates and testimonials, a curriculum vitae (detailing qualifications, work and professional experience, leadership, membership to professional associational and community service, email addresses and telephone contacts) and copies of a national identity card.
They should provide names, telephone numbers and contact addresses of at least three referees who are knowledgeable about the applicant’s competence and area of specialization.
The applicant should request their referees to submit their references directly to the Undersigned.
