COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale is a relief and development organization founded in Italy in 1965. COOPI envisions a world without poverty where diverse cultures live together sharing equal rights and equal opportunities. COOPI’s mission is to reduce poverty in the global South through interventions of long-term sustainable international cooperation. COOPI also conducts advocacy activities in Italy, to fight the cause of the serious economic gap between the North and South.
The Community mobiliser and Training officer shall be support in planning, implementing and supervising all activities of the project including mobilization and registration of beneficiaries as well as resolving work related community conflicts to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
Specific Responsibilities: Support plan and carry out needs assessments, baseline studies and periodic studies, and feedback findings to stakeholders. Participatory targeting/selection of beneficiary communities (villages and households) based on agreed criteria; Selection of beneficiaries for specific project activities Community liaison functions including negotiations for MoUs and monitoring Assist the community set up beneficiary representative committees or strengthen the existing ones with a clear mandate on how to partner in implementation of the project. Engage community labour and skills in the construction of the relevant infrastructure and facilities in collaboration with other stake holders to promote ownership.
