One Position
Duties and Responsibilities
The Officer will be responsible to the Clerk of the County Assembly for:
Addressing the communication needs of the county assembly as may be determined
Media liaison including coordination of media coverage of County Assembly plenary and Committee sittings
Preparation of and dissemination of material requiring to be communicated to the public
Development, Coordination and/or implementation of citizen participation initiatives as required by the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Part VIII and X of the County Government Act, 2012
Any other duties as may be determined by the County Assembly Service Board
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this position, a person will have:
A minimum of a diploma in mass communications recognized under the public service schemes of service
A minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience in a media house with a national presence, including experience in production and dissemination of media content.
Working knowledge of any of the major native languages of Embu County will constitute an added advantage.
