Job Purpose:
In-country well engineering support to drilling operations. Coordination and execution of the Well Delivery Process including: compilation and issue of well designs, drilling programmes and detailed drilling procedures during well planning phase; engineering support during well execution; end of well reports and well handover documentation at close out.
Responsibilities
Preparation of drilling documents: Drilling programs, procedures, End of Well reports etc that accord with Tullow policies, standards, any applicable Government or regulatory authority requirements and recognised Industry standards.
Support the EH&S performance of well operations and compliance with Corporate and regional EH&S standards.
Performance analysis of Kenya wells and identification of improvement solutions / conclusions. Analysis including cost, time, non productive time analysis, potential areas of improvement etc.
Coordination of risk assessment sessions throughout well planning process. Working closely and in collaboration with G&G and extended wells teams
Coordinate & execute the Well Delivery Process using the WellAtlas Tool.
Input and QA/QC of all wells data inputs to Wellview (master database)
Assist cost engineers in the preparation of cost estimates, budget, detailed AFEs at all levels.
Technical verification of invoices related to Drilling.
Provide technical inputs to C&P for the tender documents of service contracts and for LLIs in a timely manner with correct specs to deliver agreed concepts.
Provide engineering peer support to the operations and also in daily drilling matters (addendum to the drilling program, technical study, analysis, recommendation…)
Peer support the DE’s and drilling trainees in their learning and exposure capacities both in field and office – need to foster their core drilling skill sets.
Introduce/implement new technologies / methods and solutions to technical challenges.
Improve the efficiency and reduce costs associated with well design, and drilling, testing & completions operations, while maintaining a high standard of EHS performance.

Engineering degree or equivalent
Skills:
Advanced knowledge of industry normal practices associated with drilling, testing, work-over, wire-line and completion operations.
Understanding of well control techniques and advanced casing design.
The engineering criteria associated with the well construction and operations planning, design and well control issues, hole stability and mud, deviated drilling, Completion, Testing and production.
Recognition of importance of EH&S and embedding good practices.
Familiar with API & other recognized industry standards & recommended practices.
Understanding of Geological and Petroleum Engineering priorities and well associated requirements.
Well budgets and cost allocation and monitoring; cost optimization techniques.
Good software skills for well design / casing design.
