ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The Kenya Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) programme was established in early 2005 to support the development of financial markets in Kenya as a means to stimulate wealth creation and reduce poverty. Working in partnership with the financial services industry, the programme’s goal is to expand access to financial services among lower income households and smaller enterprises. It operates as an independent trust under the supervision of professional trustees, KPMG Kenya, with policy guidance from a Programme Investment Committee (PIC).
ABOUT THE JOB:
Credit insurance or guarantees have been widely used in advanced economies to encourage more lending by the financial sector to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Developed credit insurance or guarantees contribute to increased financing to SMEs in the following ways: (i) reduces risk for lenders; (ii) improves credit risk information available to lenders; and (iii) it improves sector level risk monitoring and risk management Financial Sector Deepening Trust (FSD) Kenya requires the services of independent individual/firm/consortia to undertake a strategic review of sustainable credit risk pooling options for Kenya encompassing public, private and hybrid provision.
We are seeking proposals from individuals/firms/consortia that meet the following requirements:
- Significant professional experience in researching or working with credit guarantees/insurance;
- Strong capacity in economic/financial sector research and consulting;
- Experience working in developing/emerging financial markets.
Proposals may be submitted in any format and should encompass:
- Names, curriculum vitae of personnel to work on this project;
- Proposed level and timing of inputs (specifying for each individual the total number of days;
- Time in-country and availability), relevant technical response (including the method of implementation);
- Full pricing (including details of expenses envisaged);
- Any qualification to the terms of reference;
- The provider’s relevant previous experience.
