Role Summary/Purpose 
As the regional manager of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), you will build and lead a team in the development and implementation of EHS programs for corporate facilities across Sub Sahara Africa, SSA. You will coordinate with multiple office sites for the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs necessary to ensure full compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements in varied locations, including Angola, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana. 

Essential Responsibilities 
You will work closely with the District Property managers and the Center of Excellence team and will liaise with local business managers and EHS and Security & Crisis Management (SCM) teams across the businesses in the region to achieve your objectives. You will report to the Regional Operations Leader and in dotted line to the Global EHS Programs Leader.

•Manage implementation of EHS programs, training and processes across all (SSA) sites.
•Support EHS due diligence in accordance with real estate initiatives, as applicable
(e.g., lease exits, renewals, etc.).
•Coordinate and conduct compliance and framework audits and reviews necessary to meet company and country compliance requirements and reduce risk liability.
•Drive metrics and compliance with all GE and country-specific EHS programs, processes and requirements across all corporate functions and facilities as well as with all GE Business subtenants.
•Coordinate all EHS projects, planning, scheduling, and budgeting for all regional corporate facilities.
•Represent Corporate Facilities EHS for (SSA) to all corporate business leaders, EHS and Crisis Management leaders, and for Corporate Session I, II, C and E (business planning, performance management and compliance) reviews, as well as provide liaison to CEP (SSA) operations.
•Develop and maintain an EHS communication network for reporting and sharing of best practices across the GE businesses within the (SSA).
•Ensure documentation and reporting of all necessary information and metrics for all EHS programs across all corporate facilities' processes and occupants.
•Support and mentor all EHS Coordinators implementing compliance, framework and Global Star efforts.
•Lead digitization of EHS and Safety/Crisis Management programs and processes.
•Work with project teams to ensure that all construction projects are designed and implemented in line with corporate programs and safety requirements.
•Direct remedial activities and projects at onsite facilities, as applicable. 

Qualifications/Requirements 
•University Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry or related science/discipline (OR in lieu of degree, combination of education and
with relevant professional/leadership experience in
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management or related function
•Demonstrable expertise and experience in EHS management in both office and industrial sites (preferably with multi-site/region responsibilities)
•Experience developing, implementing and enforcing EHS programs and protocols
•Expert knowledge of EHS legislation/regulations in South Africa or Kenya (OHS Act, COID Act, NEMA, ECA, APPA etc)
•Demonstrable experience with ISO/OHSAS 
•Experience with accident investigation process
•Knowledge of safety/crisis management protocols
•Experience with budgeting process
•Fluent in English 
•Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
•Demonstrated ability to develop and achieve measurable goals
•Ability to organize and focus teams, tasks and requests 

Desired Characteristics 
•Experience with multi-location facilities management, preferably commercial office buildings 
•Green Belt certified**
•Auditing qualification at a recognised institution (e.g., Global Star, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 etc.).
•Working knowledge of other African EHS regulations.
•Proficiency in other African languages, such as French, Portuguese 
•Knowledge of chemical handling, hazardous waste removal and waste water treatment preferred
•Understanding of GE EHS Tools (internal applicants): GenSuite, Frameworks and/or CEP Measurements Reporting**

This position in Corporate Tax works closely with Global Operations which is a corporate operation that provides support services such as 
payroll data gathering and delivery to all cross border travelers and employees of GE businesses. 

Essential Responsibilities 
•This position is responsible for ensuring both employment tax compliance and cost effectiveness for the company focusing on the Africa region.
•The position will support payroll tax reviews to meet jurisdictional reporting, withholding and filing compliance requirements with focus on individual income and social taxes.

Regional Director, Sub Saharan Africa

The Director is the face of the RICS brand in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) and is responsible for developing RICS brand as the benchmark Chartered professional qualification for professionals in land, property and construction in the region, and to establish the RICS as the leading professional body for the real estate and construction sector, representing public interest. The role requires the Director to work on achieving recognition of RICS standards by key stakeholders and institutionalization of these standards across the industry by making effective representation to the Government and the industry at large. The role requires establishing RICS as the thought leader on key policy issues representing public interest.
To successfully secure this role ou will need to be a leader with an ability to provide Vision and to build a brand.

You will need:
• Local language skills

     effective representation on various policy issues are made.
8.  Continue to develop opportunities and create new commercial revenue streams by launching new
     service lines and products. This involves the ability to analyze new business opportunities and
     translating market intelligence and product ideas into a business plan/ business case including financial
     projections, ROI analysis and making the recommendations for development.
9.  Create an ecosystem of partners working towards a common cause of creating professionalism in the
     real estate industry, who have a role to play in making representations to the Government on policy
     issues. The role also requires significant cooperative working with other professional bodies for different
     areas like valuations, quantity surveying, associations of engineers etc with a view to exploring mutual
      recognition of each others qualifications and working out direct entry arrangements or joint commercial 
      revenue generating opportunities.
10. To develop intelligent media partnerships to ensure the development of the RICS brand in the region.
11. The role involves advocacy to academic institutions to set up education courses for built environment
      professionals which are accredited by the RICS. In essence the role entails forging partnerships with
      universities and ensuring that they are accredited to the RICS.
12. The Director may be required to regularly speak at industry conferences on various key industry issues
      again highlighting RICS credentials and thought leadership.
13. To forge strong long-term relationships with large organizations at the senior most levels in the real
      estate and construction sector and to facilitate buy in to the RICS philosophy. This includes developing
     a structured key account management program which understands the needs and provides services
     which build and maintain RICS’ value and relevance to employers and identifies opportunities for
     membership, courses, training, BCIS, & other products.
14. The role requires strong understanding of legal and statutory requirements to ensure the business is
      run in the most effective manner that is compliant with the local legislative requirements.

Job Purpose:

  • Assist in training of staff on SHEQ programs and ensure compliance to legal requirements
  • Qualify, recommend, and supervise destruction of non-conforming materials and products as per the current environmental standards.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in food science and technology or related

Job Purpose:

To monitor and document all production operations, in compliance to the established regulatory and Company standards to ensure production of quality products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Examine all incoming materials (including water) to ensure that the standards are to the agreed specification for both quality and quantity
  • Calibration of the various laboratory and the entire production equipment
  • Prepare various statistical records, process and deduce recommended statistical ratios and indices as per requirements
  • Perform various microbiological tests and come up with appropriate recommendation on corrective action
  • Analysis of various retention samples as per Company standards
  • Process consumer quality complaints as per Company standards
  • Monitor the production processes to ensure that they are being carried out according to the approved methods and sanitary conditions and that finished product is being manufactured to specified quality standards
  • Develop sanitization and hygiene procedures to continually improve standards within the plant
  • To assist in the training, appraising and disciplining of Quality Control technicians to ensure continuation of the above
  • Provide reports to the Quality Assurance Manager on plant performance on Quality Control KPIs on regular basis
  • Supervise destruction of materials and products as necessary

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and Technology or related
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a busy manufacturing environment, one of which must be in supervisory position.
