Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following positions in the National Education Board.
Requirements for Appointment
Chairperson of the Board
A person shall be qualified for appointment as the Chairperson of the Board if such person:-

Holds a degree in education from a university recognized in Kenya;

Has knowledge and at least fifteen years experience in matters relating to education;

Has had a distinguished career in their respective fields; and

Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Member of the Board
A Person shall be qualified for appointment as a member of the Board if such person –

Holds a degree from a recognized university;

Has knowledge and at least ten years experience in matters relating to any of the following fields: -
1. Education;
2. Management;
3. Finance;
4. Governance;
5. Human rights;
6. Public administration;
7. Law;
8. Economics; and
9. meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Has had a distinguished career in their respective fields; and

Meets the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
A person shall not be qualified for appointment as the Chairperson or a member of the Board if such Person: -

Is a member of Parliament or a county assembly,

Is a member of a local authority;

Is an undischarged bankrupt; or

Has been removed from office for contravening the provisions of the Constitution or any other written law.
