Corporate Affairs Manager

Corporate Affairs Manager
Qualifications
  • PhD or a Masters degree in Marketing or Communication
  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Must have proven excellent editorial skills;
  • Media skills, including organizing press conferences and able to represent the university in such forums;
  • Proven work experience of not less than five years in PR, marketing and resource mobilization in a large multi-sector organization;
  • Similar productive experience in fund raising with a non-governmental organization (NGO) with internal exposure and a good portfolio of both local and international fundraising contacts and associates will be an added advantage;
  • A good record of successful Communications campaign;
  • Skilled in event planning and management;
  • Conversant with national and international communication policies;
  • 8 years post qualification experience;
  • Excellent articulation, presentation and communication skills;
  • Ability to use audio-visual equipment.
    Responsibilities
  • Manage infernal communications and develop an infernal Communications Plan;
  • Supervise the development and implementation of a University wide Media Relations strategy;
  • Supervise the preparation and implementation of a Corporate Social Responsibility Plan;
  • Manage the University’s reputation and corporate identity and maintaining Brand Public Relations, communications and build customer relations;
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating university communications strategies;
  • Developing and implementing local and international resource mobilization strategies;
  • Identifying a funding base and fundraising partners and writing funding proposals;
  • Developing and maintaining a donor database, building and sustaining a sound relationship with donors;
  • Sensitizing the University stakeholders on resources mobilization activities;
  • Ensuring effective two-way internal communications;
  • Taking the lead on media handling, proactively placing good news stories, dealing with enquiries and producing media releases;
  • Playing a key role in issue management and planning;
  • Ensuring that the University community is kept fully briefed on developments, plans and any incidents in the University;
  • Managing the Corporate Affairs budget;
  • Advising senior colleagues on strategic communications and related issues;
  • Supervising the Corporate Affairs staff;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Vice- Chancellor.
