Through strategic partnerships, Greenlight Planet has introduced its Sun King™ line of solar lanterns to 30 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South America and Southeast Asia. Our distribution partners’ existing, unique channels enable us to reach millions of off-grid consumers, and we work closely with these partners to develop and execute strategies to maximize reach to off-grid homes.
The Global Director, Channel Sales will manage and aggressively scale our partnership sales channels across Sub-Saharan Africa, South / Southeast Asia and Western markets. This person reports directly to Greenlight’s CEO and takes complete accountability for the partnership channels business, leading large business development teams based in Africa, South Asia and the United States to drive massive penetration of Sun King™ products to off-grid households and outdoor / recreational markets around the world. This person is a key source of strategic leadership within the organization, helping to shape the product lines, distribution and marketing strategies which will guide the organization as it continues to grow at a rate of > 200% year over year.
The ideal candidate has:
- 12+ years experience in international business development, sales, channel management and channel building, ideally in mass-market, consumer-focused industries. The candidate must have strong experience within sub-Saharan Africa
- A strong entrepreneurial spirit and excitement for the chance to build and lead a critical global business line for a fast growing company.
- Experience taking a new product to market or has delivered success in a virgin territory and comfort growing a young but successful business to deliver on revenue targets
- Strong leadership skills and the capabilities to manage a multi-cultural team based in multiple geographies (West Africa, East Africa, India, the United States)
- A willingness to spend 35% of his/her time on the road interacting with key partners in markets around Africa and the South Asia
