ARTICLE 19 Legal Officer (Eastern Africa)

Job Title: Legal Officer - Eastern AfricaSalary: KES. From 2,160,000 per annum
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
We are looking for a Legal Officer who will be responsible for ensuring that ARTICLE 19 plays a crucial role in promoting an enabling legal and policy environment for freedom of expression and freedom of information in Eastern Africa.
Based in the region, s/he will be

developing policy documents of freedom of expression and freedom of information related issue,

analysing laws related to freedom of expression and freedom of information and their conformity with the international and regional standards;

researching and monitoring new freedom of expression developments and trends;

undertaking national, regional and international advocacy;

assisting with national, regional and international litigation;

representing ARTICLE 19 at conferences and meetings; and
