1. Position Title: Aviation Logistics Manager
Duty Station: Eldoret, Kenya
Job Summary:
Manage the aircraft spares and equipment inventory, source and order replacement parts and track rotables out for repair for US registered fleet of aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure standardized systems, structures, procedures and policies for inventory management, procurement, vendor lists and logistics processes are implemented, maintained, and evaluated in accordance with standard US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) procedures;
Ensure FAA Approved Technical library and FAA Maintenance records are kept up to date and subscriptions are current;
Manage the inventory using the CAMP Maintenance software;
Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated in accordance with applicable FAA standards;
Ensure the MAS EA program maintains adequate inventories to achieve desired operational readiness rates.
Help set mm/max levels and track life limited parts;
Ensure AOG parts are quickly identified, purchased and shipped by the most expeditious means possible;
Ensure cores are handled in a timely manner, track progress of overhauled rotables and ensure they are returned to the field;
Maintain current, accurate knowledge of the status of every shipment in process at any given time, including courier, airfreight and ocean freight shipments;
Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public;
Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers;
Be willing and comfortable working in remote environments, with little support structure, often in war zones;
When humanitarian crisis arise, it may be necessary to temporarily deploy away from the home base for several weeks, and even up to 30 days at a time.Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, as well as able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education / Experience Needed
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies.2. Position Title: Pilot / Mechanic
Duty Station: Eldoret, Kenya
Job Summary:
Samaritan’s Purse (SP) is looking for a Pilot / Mechanic to serve full time with its East Africa aviation team.
We currently operate the following aircraft types from our base in Eldoret, Kenya: DC-3T, King Air 200, and Cessna Grand Caravan.
The candidate must have a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) commercial/instrument or ATP pilot certificate; 2,500 hours total flight time, unimproved airstrip experience, a U.S. FAA Airframe and Power plant (A & P) license, and a heart to serve the Lord.
We want a person who has felt God’s leading to use their gifts, skills, and abilities in aviation to reach hurting people in remote parts of the world with the love and gospel of Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a current U. S. FAA first or second class medical certificate and valid pilot’s certificate;
Operate Samaritan’s Purse aircraft according to company SOP’s, the approved AFM and the appropriate regulations;
File flight plans as needed or assigned;
Obtain weather data and interprets data based on flight plan;
Complete aircraft weight and balances for flights;
Load and unload passengers’ luggage and cargo in aircraft;
Keep assigned aircraft charts and software updated;
Keep aircraft clean, neat, and polished when home and away from the home base including sanitizing the aircraft restroom facilities after each flight;
Assist in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of SP property;
Perform pre-flights, in-flight test, and post-flights as needed to ensure safety of flight;
Represent Samaritan’s Purse as a professional when dealing with donors, government officials, and others;
Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public;
Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers;
When not flying work a normal work day doing whatever tasks are assigned by the Director of Operations or Director of Maintenance.;
Assess, manage, and report critical physical, emotional, or spiritual concerns of supervised staff.Qualifications:
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ;
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
2,500 flight hours total, 1,000 of those as PIC;
U.S. FAA A & P license or significant management/leadership experience;
U.S. FAA commercial/instrument or ATP; experience in the DC-3T, King Air B-200 or C-208 preferred;
One year of college-level Biblical studies preferred.Submission of Applications
