LOMIDAT Sales and Marketing Officer

  • Lomidat Slaughterhouse (www.lomidatmeat.co.ke) is located 10 kilometers from Lokichoggio (Along Loki-Lodwar Road).Lomidat is a modern abattoir processing meat and meat products.
    Lomidat adheres to high standard meat production techniques and hygiene besides offering ready market for livestock for the people of Turkana.
    Lomidat is owned by the Turkana pastoralists through Lomidat Pastoral Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Ltd.
    Position Tittle: LOMIDAT Sales and Marketing Officer

    Reporting to the General Manager and based in Nairobi, the sales and marketing officer shall;
  • Ensure increased sales of the company’s products; meat and meat products including by-products.
  • Formulate and implement strategic and tactical sales and marketing plans;
  • Oversee all necessary activities to fulfill strategic objectives.
  • Identify and approach potential new clients, convert enquiries from potential clients to sales.
  • Develop relationships with existing clients and maximize revenue potential.
  • Develop existing marketing activities to ensure awareness of the company among all target groups.
  • Provide timely and reliable management information.
  • Work toward building the overall strength and performance of the sales and marketing team and the company as a whole.
  • New business development and direct marketing
  • Suggest viable target clients; Butcheries, Army, Supermarkets, distributors, sourcing relevant data as necessary
  • Approach potential clients through various channels, including calling and direct mail campaigns
  • Use knowledge of the meat market to promote introductions and sales
  • Participate in events that will promote the awareness of the company and its products including Trade fairs, food exhibitions to market the company and its products.
  • Arrange and lead new business meetings, delivering sales presentation in a professional manner
  • Be familiar with the range of products offered by meat market both local and international and understand how to identify client requirements that can be met by these services
  • Work with the General Manager, Production manager, quality assurance manager and the marketing team in the development of ideas for new products.
  • Shall be in charge of Nairobi depot.
  • Adopt a consultative approach in working with clients to establish requirements and propose solutions, using technology to strengthen both domestic and export range.
  • Client retention
  • Maintain awareness of the company among existing prospects through periodic follow-up calls.
  • Advertising and Public Relations
  • Analyse advertising opportunities and propose campaigns to widen and strengthen the company scope.
  • Clientèle database maintenance
  • Supervising and motivating a team of workers in sales department;
  • Reviewing the performance of subordinates;
  • Identifying training needs.
  • Scan the environment to be able to inform the management so as to align the business with the changing environment.Qualifications
  • A degree or equivalent in Sales and Marketing
  • Over 5 years progressive experience in FMCG, experience in meat industry will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge in Financial Control
