  • Underwriting Assistants, General Insurance (Nairobi, Meru And Kitui Branches)
    Nature and Scope
    The position reports to the Assistant Underwriting Manager and Branch Manager.
    The job holder will assist in underwriting and risk assessment within the set standards of service to ensure quality and timely service.
    Key Responsibilities
  • Assess risks and make acceptable decisions after proper analysis of clients' data
  • Ensuring that systems and procedures covering underwriting operations are adhered to
  • Ensure high standard of customer service
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of underwriting documents
  • Renewals follow up as per agreed standards
  • Ensure that files are well documented and all communication and transactions recorded
  • Ensure proper declaration of motor certificates and stationeries to maintain proper record levels Ensure safe keeping and proper accounting of all company security documents, i.e. motor certificates, cover notes, yellow cards
  • Assist in marketing company products and services to potential clients
  • Perform any other duties as may be requested by ManagementKnowledge, Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in insurance or related field
  • Computer Skills
  • Good Communication skills
  • Good customer relations skills
  • Analytical, Negotiation and Risk Assessment skillsClosing Date: Wednesday, February 11, 2015
    Key Skills/Specialization:
    Bachelor of Commerce - Insurance Option or Business Related field; Pursuing professional courses in Insurance
