Water Hygiene and Sanitation Supervisor

MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need.
Location : Dadaab project - Dagahaley
Start date : ASAP
Length of contract : 12 months with possibility of extension
Employment type : Full time
The selected candidate will be reporting to the Head of Logistic Activity and will be responsible for the project WHS activities
Main Tasks include, but not limited to:
Control water supply and treatment, and sanitation according to the protocols of MSF, specifically:
  • Ensure instruction for water treatment are applied
  • Follow-up and organization of water supply and consumption
  • Ensure supply materials are well installed and maintained in good conditions.
Track sanitation and hygiene activities, infrastructures:
  • Installation of drainage systems according to the nature of wastewater
  • Perform water treatment
  • Perform maintenance on drainage and water treatment systems (septic tanks…)
  • Perform waste water treatment
Conduct planning and organizing the collection and disposal, in particular:
  • Ensure implementation of protocols for treatment and disposal
  • Provide the right PPE for waste treatment to the watsan team
  • Train the team on waste management
  • Check that waste collection is carried out correctly
Perform the physical organization of materials and tools used in water treatment, hygiene and sanitation, in particular:
  • Stock inventory
  • Receiving and processing orders for water, sanitation and hygiene materials
  • Check that the amounts received are recorded
  • Check monthly consumption
Set up anti-vector measures.
  • Planning and implementing any anti-vector measures to be taken in accordance with pathologies faced on the project
Requirements:
Education· Technical diploma, desirable specialization in water and sanitation
Experience · 6 months previous experience in similar position.
Languages · Kenyan nationals with ability to speak Somali are encouraged to apply
