Director Programme Operations

Marie Stopes Kenya is an NGO registered in Kenya. We are affiliated to Marie Stopes International. Together we deliver, quality sexual and reproductive health care and family planning to millions of the world's poorest and most vulnerable women.
The Director of Programme Operations reports to the Country Director and is part of the team of Directors called Country Management Team (CMT).
The purpose of this is post is to lead the team responsible for the design and delivery of a set of interrelated and complementary activities that result in high numbers of Couple Years Protections (CYPs) now and into the future in Kenya. The Director of Programmes Operations is responsible for bringing modern business approaches to the organisation in order to achieve financial sustainability.
Raising funds and using the social enterprise model, the Director is a key programme representative to the Government of Kenya, development partners and donors, and other stakeholders. In addition he or she contributes to the body of MSI's knowledge of effective programming worldwide.
The post-holder works to an agreed budget and ensures that the teams operate with plans that are clear and strategically effective as they deliver high quality work. Income generation, cost-effectiveness, and value for money, are guiding principles for the management of the Department, where maximum efficiencies are realized and the expectations of MSK's client base and its donors are fully met.
Empowering his or her teams the Director of Programme Operations encourages innovation and learning while at the same time identifies of new opportunities for impact on all target groups as well as new areas of funding income across all channels. The Director will report regularly to the CMT on progress and developments as well as contributing to all business matters as part of CMT.
We see you bringing to the role the ability to develop and articulate a clear business vision and plan, excellent interpersonal/communication skills - both written and fluent spoken English Language. With a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve targets and to achieve organisational change.
