Driver

The incumbent will drive Concern Worldwide vehicles as directed by the Logistics Officer or Head of Field Office in compliance with Concern’s Policies and Procedures and in line with all the Kenya Traffic Rules and Regulations.· Conducting pre-driving checks (fuel, lubricants and water),and operating the vehicle in a way to maximize its operating lifespan
· Responsible for making daily recommendations regarding vehicles functionality in relation to health and safety of passengers and goods in the car.
· Report all technical faults with the car by completing the weekly vehicle check list
· Ensure adherence to all the country traffic rules and regulations including ensuring that passengers fasten their seat belts before embarking on the journey and that the vehicle has valid operational documents as required by the republic of Kenya.
· Effective vehicle and service record keeping, that is, update mileage and maintenance records promptly and accurately on the Log Sheets.
· Complete and submit to the Line Manager incident reports relating to any incidents and accidents immediately.
· Proper use and maintenance of all communication and other tools and equipment in the vehicle
· Load and offload goods or items into and from Concern vehicles.
· When transporting goods, the driver is responsible for submitting delivery notes and/or reports and to confirm the status and quantity of goods with the recipient.
· Liaise as necessary with the base office for security updates and taking necessary measures to minimise exposure to threats.
· Ensure the vehicle is clean at all times.
Responding to Emergencies:
· Participate and contribute as necessary towards Concern’s Emergency response as and when necessary
· Comply with Concern’s health, safety and security guidelines during emergencies
Programme Participant Protection Policy
· To adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and Concern Code of Conduct. · Minimum O’ Level certification
· Driving license Class BCE. Motor Bike License is an added advantage
· At least three (3) years accident-free experience especially with NGOs. Strong knowledge and understanding of all the country traffic rules and regulations and familiarity with the geographical location of the programme area.
· Basic qualifications or related extensive experience in mechanical repairs preferably in land cruisers vehicles & motorcycles
· A certificate of good conduct
· Minimum Age: 25 years
· Excellent physical and health condition
· Good spoken and written in English and Kiswahili.
Job Specification:
