Human Resource Officer - Eldoret

Almasi Beverages Ltd is a company which was born out of a merger of three Coca-Cola bottling companies of Rift Valley Bottlers, Kisii Bottlers and Mount Kenya Bottlers. Almasi’s purpose is to increase shareholder value by manufacturing, packaging, distributing and selling Coca-Cola products. 

The company is currently integrating its operations to one seamless organization. We have an innovative Change strategy which focuses on strong distribution & manufacturing, selling and building a strong and capable workforce. Our new business architecture is that of a centralized Commercial function, devolved manufacturing and distribution for revenue generation and a strong centralized support function of HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, Risk; for the purpose of creating sharper focus, efficiency and effectiveness to enable us achieve a double digit growth in 2014 and beyond. We shall deliver all these through close collaboration with Coca-Cola, our shareholders and other key stakeholders both externally and internally, including our people.

Job Purpose:

To provide technical and administrative support to management and staff on all Human Resource Management issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate employees’ understanding of company policies and procedures, employee benefit plans and other HR related issues.
  • Ensure employee files, HR forms, policies and other records are up-to-date and well maintained
  • Coordinate the administration of recruitment and selection process
  • Prepare and coordinate induction and orientation programs for new employees
  • Collate data for preparation of department’s monthly reports.
  • Coordinate employee events and activities, company’s CSR programme and charity organization events.
  • Coordinate the administration of company training and development plans and activities
  • Coordinate Industrial Attachment programmes and activities.
  • Ensure employee annual leave schedules are completed and administer leave applications
  • Prepare routine correspondence and dissemination of information from the HR Department to the staff team
  • Liaise with the external health management provider, follow up on medical issues and advise management on matters requiring attention.
  • Coordinate the collection of articles and assist in the editing and publishing the company newsletter

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Human Resource Administration/HR Assistant in a busy HR Department

  • Excellent administration skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to liaise effectively with suppliers
  • Should demonstrate tact, diplomacy, good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge and experience using a HRIS is an advantage
