Job Description
The Millennium Water Alliance seeks a Chief of Party for an anticipated 5-year WASH program in Kenya expected to be awarded by USAID in FY2014. KIWASH aims to provide at-scale adoption of sustainable models of WASH service delivery through (1) scaled-up market-based service delivery models; (2) increased access to sustainable financing/credit for WASH services; (3) improved access to integrated WASH and nutrition services; (4) increased environmental sustainability of WASH services; and (5) strengthened WASH services and water resource institutions. The project will incorporate sustainability of resources and services, upstream/downstream integration, and effective strategies to scale.
Long-term and short-term positions are open for candidate with expertise in the following technical areas:
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) service delivery
Hygiene
Sanitation
Health and nutrition
Behavior change communication
Business and finance (especially related WASH programs)
Water resources management
Environmental sustainability
Institutional strengthening/local governance/capacity building

Required Experience:
• Advanced degree in M&E, environmental studies, demography, statistics, engineering, public health, business/public administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience related to WASH, water resource management programs, donor-funded projects, capacity building, sanitation, gender integration, or environmental engineering, preferably including multi-sectoral implementations (WASH/nutrition, WRM/environment, etc.)
• Fluency in written and spoken English. Preference for applicants who are also fluent in written and spoken Swahili.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience related to WASH, water resource management programs, donor-funded projects, capacity building, sanitation, gender integration, or environmental engineering, preferably including multi-sectoral implementations (WASH/nutrition, WRM/environment, etc.)
