Office Of The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration)
1. Chief Fire Fighting Officer
QUALIFICATIONS:
KCE Division II/ KCSE Mean Grade C + (Plus) and above
BA Degree in Disaster Management or BSc. Environmental Science or related field from a recognized university
At least five (5) years relevant work experience in fire fighting
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
Certificate in First Aid
2. Fire Investigator
Qualifications:
KCE Division III/ KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) and above
Diploma in Fire Science or Disaster response/Management from a recognized institution
At least three (3) years experience of fire scene investigative experience and analysis
Experience or training as a Criminal investigator
Certificate in fire fighting and first aid
Demonstrate working knowledge which includes fire prevention principles, investigation methods, fire fighting tactics, emergency medical technician training, fire service administration and legal issues
Current Certified Fire Investigation (CFI) or Certified Fire and Explosion (CFI) accreditation
Medically and physically fit
Knowledge of building construction materials and the effect of fire on them
Background knowledge in mechanical, electrical, civil or chemical engineering
3. Fire Officer
Qualifications:
KCE Division III/ KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) and above
Diploma in Disaster Management or related field from a recognized institution
At least three (3) years relevant work experience in fire fighting
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
First Aid knowledge
4. Fire Fighting Marshall
Qualifications:
KCE Division III/ KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) and above
Diploma in Disaster Management or related field from a recognized institution
At least three (3) years relevant work experience in fire fighting
Certificate in First Aid
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
Physically fit
Be at least thirty five (35) years of age and below
5. Fire man
Qualifications:
KCE Division IV/ KCSE Mean Grade D+ (Plus) and above
Certificate in Disaster Management from a recognized institution
At least three (3) years relevant work experience in fire fighting
Certificate in First Aid
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
Physically fit
Be at least thirty five (35) years of age and below
6. Fire engine driver
Qualifications:
KCE Division IV/KCSE mean Grade D (Plain) and above
Valid driving License Class ABCDE and a stamp for plant operators with a clean driving record
At least five (5) years continuous driving experience
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to operate a fire fighting engine
Knowledge of the traffic act and other related regulations
Certificate of vehicle mechanics/maintenance and repair will be an added advantage
Terms Of Service:
The successful candidate will be offered two (2) years renewable performance-based contract and a generous remuneration.
