The University of Maryland Baltimore Global Health Initiatives through its operating arm Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation (MGIC) implements comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment programs to facilitate the Kenya Ministries of Medical Services and Public Health to control the spread of HIV and rapidly scale up HIV services, institute continuous quality improvement methods as well as the M & E infrastructure necessary to support these services.
MGIC Kenya is seeking a suitably qualified person able to fill the position of HTS, Linkage and Retention Officer to be based in Kisii and Migori Counties.
Overall Job Function:
The Longitudinal Care Improvement officer will be responsible for supporting facility-community linked care delivery systems within designated regions.
Key Responsibilities:
a. Strengthen systems that support effective facility-community linked continuum of care for PLHIV.
b. Utilize data to inform quality of the care provided to PLHIV and to support sound decision making.
c. By use of innovative training methodologies adapt curricula to support training of community and lay health workers.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Degree in Social Sciences, Public health, Anthropology, Nursing, Clinical medicine, or Community Development/Social Work.
· NASCOP Certification in Provision of HTS Services.
· 4 - 6years’ experience, 2 years of which should be within a busy HIV Comprehensive Care Centre and/or in the provision of HIV prevention services.
· Demonstrable knowledge of HIV/ART management, diagnosis and treatment procedures of conditions associated with HIV, adherence support and HTS service delivery.
