Declaration of Vacancy for the position of Deputy Director, ODEL Campus
The University of Nairobi is seeking to appoint a Deputy Director for the Open Distance and Electronic Learning (ODeL) Campus.
This position is equivalent to that of a Deputy Principal in the University.
Applicants should be professors or Associate Professors of the University serving on Permanent and Pensionable terms of employment.
They should have managed academic programmes and discharged administrative responsibilities.
The Deputy Director shall assist the Director, ODeL Campus in carrying out Academic and Administrative functions and be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for maintaining and promoting efficient management of ODeL Campus.
The Deputy Director will also represent the Director, ODeL Campus within the University on all academic and administrative matters.
The specific function for the Deputy Director will be to coordinate the teaching in Departments in ODeL Campus in addition to any other duties that may be allocated by the Director or the Vice-Chancellor.
He or she will be a member of the ODeL Campus Board.
The Deputy Director shall play a leading role in the ongoing change and transformation process especially in respect of the management of human, physical and financial resources of the University.
They should have at least three (3) years of experience at senior management level and must have served or be serving as Deans / Directors of Faculties or Schools in the University.
In addition, they should be persons of high integrity with proven management and leadership skills, be avid researchers and fundraisers.
