Job purpose and key deliverables | The incumbent will be responsible for establishing Wrapping Materials Requirements for operations, place purchase orders as per Materials Requirement Planning System recommendations and monitor movement of materials ordered from suppliers to the factory, maintenance of Materials Requirement Planning data integrity and inventory control parameters to ensure adequate supply to meet production requirements set to meet the market demand. Key requirements: 1. Analyse the Material Requirement Planning system report output on weekly basis, and review action messages to ensure stability on material requirements and no adverse changes on material schedules that effects production plan. 2. Manage processing of Purchase Orders, validate delivery schedule dates and ensure suppliers are provided with practical and attainable delivery schedule in a timely manner and that suppliers adhere to supply schedule. 3. Implement and maintain supplier vendor schedules with both local and international suppliers as per agreed Service Level Agreements and ensure reports/ data are maintained, reviewed and process improvement achieved. 4. Continuously Monitor, Review and Update agreed material inventory parameters to achieve targeted inventory buffer stocks, inventory accuracy and data integrity to ensure targets are met. 5. Monitor performance of suppliers on deliveries schedules, review and improve performance measure and ensure their payment in full on time as per the agreed payment term. 6. Attend supplier complaints, in pursuit of establishment and improvement of partnership with suppliers. 7. Co-ordinate handling of material supply quality issues in conjunction with Packaging Development and procurement departments and provide timely feedback to Suppliers to ensure minimal material impacts on production and ensure system data integrity is achieved. 8. Constantly monitor the movement of materials from suppliers, clearing and forwarding agents DHL & Bollore International and advice planning of any delays on materials that may affect production plans. |
Essential requirements | • A university degree with knowledge in Enterprise Resource Planning based systems. • Knowledge in purchasing and supplies systems. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and understanding of how to deal with suppliers partners. • At least 3 years experience in a large manufacturing concern preferably in purchasing and supplies and/or manufacturing. |
