You will provide HIV Testing and Counselling ('HTC') services within the areas of intervention, contribute towards effective delivery of project design, monitoring implementation of the project plan and activities in order to ensure that they are timely, cost effective and sustainable.
Background: I Choose Life – Africa (ICL) is one of the leading Non-Governmental Organizations that has contributed greatly to Sexual Reproductive Health efforts among the youth in Kenya today. The organization works closely with the government, universities, and communities and has programs in over 210 institutions (tertiary institutions and high schools) across 23 Counties in Kenya and reaches over 1 million youth annually with Behaviour Change Communication messages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES A. Project Implementation
- Provide HTC services in the areas of intervention.
- Conduct social and community mobilization to introduce the intervention
- Ensure proper recording and confidential keeping of all client information/data entry and management
- Prepare and submit weekly HTC reports.
- Support in patient screening and follow up.
B. Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
- Support Proposal development of ICL projects
- Market and sell organizational products
- Assemble resources required for project team to perform tasks
C. Project Monitoring, Evaluation & Control
- Track the projects interventions areas and share the information for performance improvement.
- Provide detailed explanations through reports of project processes
- Present work to the Partner at milestones throughout the project
- Ensure Partners’ expectations are exceedingly met in terms of quality of product and service delivered.
D. Community Engagement Activities
- Act as a liaison between the Project and the community
- Assist clients in selection of appropriate community support through referrals.
- Conduct social and community mobilization to ensure increased uptake of HTC services.
- Conduct community education on matters related to HIV prevention, treatment care and support projects.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Candidate should have a Diploma in Social Work or Welfare.
- A Certificate/Diploma in clinical medicine from KMTC is an added advantage.
- Professional training in (HTC), Counselling and Testing, EBI implementation and reporting.
- Computer Literate.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- 1 year hands on experience in implementation of HIV prevention projects such as EBIs and clinical setting.
- Experience in community training and community mobilization
- Ability to work with a team ,foster a team approach and incorporate capacity building activities into the project
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical and report writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop institutional partnerships and build networks
- Be an excellent communicator and willingness to work in a multi –sect oral team setting
- Computer literate with an ability to analyze and utilize project development gaps for decision making.
