Background: I Choose Life – Africa (ICL) is one of the leading Non-Governmental Organizations that has contributed greatly to Sexual Reproductive Health efforts among the youth in Kenya today. The organization works closely with the government, universities, and communities and has programs in over 210 institutions (tertiary institutions and high schools) across 23 Counties in Kenya and reaches over 1 million youth annually with Behaviour Change Communication messages.

ICL's mission is to create a movement of individuals that enhance the quality of life for communities through Health initiatives, Economic empowerment, Education and Improved Leadership & governance (HEAL).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Program Implementation
- Facilitate Evidence Based intervention activities such as Sister to Sister, RESPECT-K etc;
- Organize and support HIV Counselling and Testing activities;
- Engage county stakeholders and beneficiaries
- Ensure consistent accessibility to prevention commodities i.e. condoms and water based lubricants.
- Conduct social and community mobilization to introduce the intervention
- Ensure proper recording and confidential keeping of all clients information/data entry and management
- Maintain working relationships with the community
- Monitor, refer and report on individual clients
- Distribute IEC materials
B. Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
- Support Proposal development for ICL programs
- Market and sell organizational products
- Assemble resources required for program team to perform tasks
C. Program Monitoring, Evaluation & Control
- Create, maintain & constantly look to improve project processes
- Provide detailed explanations through reports of project processes
- Present work to the Partner at milestones throughout the project
- Ensure Partners’ expectations are exceedingly met in terms of quality of product and service delivered.
D. Community Engagement Activities
- Conduct trainings on EBIs at community and institutional level
- Assist the Project manager and Project Officers to Coordinate program implementation
- Assemble resources required for program team to perform tasks
- Act as a liaison between the Program and the community
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Candidate should have a Diploma in Social Sciences or any other related field from a recognized Institution
- HTC Certificate is an added advantage
- Trained in various Evidence Based Intervention specifically in Sister to Sister/ Respect K.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of 1 year hands on experience in implementation of HIV prevention programs such as EBI’s
- S/He should also have experience in community training and community mobilization
- Ability to work with a team, foster a team approach and incorporate capacity building activities into the program
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical and report writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop institutional partnerships and build networks
- Be an excellent communicator
- Computer literate with an ability to analyze and utilize program development gaps for decision making.
