The Humanitarian Leadership Academy is a new organisation supported by Save the Children. The Academy’s mission is to empower people around the world to prepare for and respond to crises in their own countries. The Academy will train the next generation of humanitarian leaders and responders, particularly those located in the most crisis-affected countries and communities; spread best practice and knowledge of what works so that humanitarian aid is more effective and has much greater impact; and support the creation of excellence in the humanitarian sector – and prevent the suffering of millions of people who face humanitarian crises worldwide.
The Academy will work closely with Save the Children, which has been operational in Kenya since the 1950s, providing support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partner, together with other local, national and international partners.
The Academy, a UK-based charity and independent force for the sector, is in the process of establishing an Academy Centre in Kenya and seeks a strong leader to be its first Academy Centre Director.
