Objective of the Role
The Finance Assistant is responsible for all FEED entries to ensure accurate financial record keeping as well as timely, detailed and accurate reconciliation of financial documents, including bank statements, inventory records, invoices and other reports. S/He will closely work with the other finance team members in the implementation of prudent, effective and progressive financial, cost and management accounting. Full confidentiality is mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Bank Payments
- Raising payment vouchers & cheques
- Cheques dispatch
Petty Cash Payments
- Custodian of Petty Cash Float
- Petty cash Vouchers /Payments
- Petty cash Monthly analysis, cash control and account reconciliation.
QuickBooks General and Inventory Ledger Postings
- Vendors’ bills
- Bank Payments,
- Petty Cash Payments
- Dagoretti Center & Gigiri Inventory Postings
- Inventory Physical Count & reconciliations
Other Duties
· Receiving cash donations, receipting & banking
· Vendors Reconciliations
· Correspondence delivery & collection
· Staff Imprest follow up
· Pay slips dispatch
· Scanning documents for HQ monthly reporting
· Filing department documents
· Any other finance office duties that may be assigned 4
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum CPA II
- Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent will be an added advantage
- Excellent proficiency in QuickBooks, Word and Excel
- At least 2 years working experience in a busy accounts department preferably in the NGO sector.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and hard working, with high ethical standards. Highly motivated, energetic, analytical, self-starter, able to work independently
