PEDIATRIC AND ADOLESCENT LONGITUDINAL CARE SPECIALIST - NAIROBI, KISII & MIGORI

Position Summary
The incumbent is responsible for providing technical support in the planning and implementation of strategies to support the provision of Pediatric and Adolescent HIV services HIV friendly services to improve their retention HIV services
Duties & Responsibilities
  1. To oversee the implementation of Paediatric and Adolescent specific clinics in supported facilities
  2. Oversee the training and mentorship of health care providers in Pediatric and Adolescent HIV care using the national guidelines
  3. To design a PACT specific package of support outlining strategies to improve the retention of HIV-infected children and adolescents in care.
  4. To plans and oversee the initiation and implementation of minimum adherence and psychosocial support package in PACT supported facilities.
  5. To oversee the implementation of a peer mentor program for HIV-infected adolescents in supported facilities.
  6. To strengthen linkages with community based structures and organizations for enrolment of HIV-infected children and adolescents and their follow-up beyond the facility
  7. To liaise with the Paediatric and Adolescents HIV technical working group in coordinating implementation of these activities as per the National guidelines
  8. To oversee the monitoring and evaluation of Paediatric and Adolescent HIV care and treatment services
Required Qualifications
  1. M.B.Ch.B, MMED Pediatrics is an added advantage.
  2. Training in adolescent, PMCT and pediatric.
  3. Experience providing services in public health facility setup.
  4. More than five (5) years’ experience in implementing HIV programs for Children and Adolescents.
  5. Must have undergone training in National HIV guidelines for children and adolescents.
