Job Title: Assistant Project Coordinator (Kibera)
Duty Station/Mission: Nairobi, Kenya/ MSF Belgium
Duration: Fixed term contract, extendable
Medecins Sans Frontieres Belgium is looking to fill the position of an Assistant Project Coordinator (Kibera) for our Kenya mission,based in Nairobi County. The successful candidate will be under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator (PC).
Objective of the Position:
Contributes to the planning, supervision, monitoring and follow-up, together with the PC, of all aspects related to the handover of the project , according to the project plan, MSF operational policy and main strategic lines:
o Follow-up, report and facilitate the handover process under the leadership of the PC
o Assist in defining the overall advocacy strategy of the project and incorporate the same into the handover process
o Assist the PC by contributing to the context analysis and ensure that good relationships with all external stakeholders is maintained
Support the PC in the induction of new staff, and in the general administrative tasks related to the project (writing and distribution of minutes, sending out invitations for meetings, booking venues), etc.

Function as a liaison officer between the project and the local health authorities, with regards to the Handover of the Project
Maintain close contact with all relevant counterparts to ensure that regular handover meetings are held and that there is participation from the Sub County and County HMT
Support the PC in the development of advocacy strategies related to the handover
Create a mapping of various actors and stakeholders; meet with the relevant actors (other NGOs, youth groups, community leaders etc.) as requested by the PC to maintain networks with the community
Participate in briefing visitors and facilitate their visit to the project by either accompanying them or ensuring that they are accompanied
Support the PC on the various communications to the MSF staff in the clinics, sub-county, county and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the monthly/ quarterly/ annual report writing and other project reports.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: University degree in communication, administration or related field.
Experience: Working experience of at least 2 years in a similar capacity in MSF/ INGO.
Skills/ Competences: strategic vision; flexible; diplomatic; cultural sensitive; extremely patient; proactive; attentive to details; analytical capacities; team player; organized; excellent communication & reporting skills; computer literate.
Language: Proficiency in written and oral English & Swahili.
