This role shall be responsible for defining and driving local content initiatives across the GE portfolio in SSA. This will include the identification and prioritization of various P&L and GE wide initiatives, evaluating ways to scale programs across P&L’s/3rd parties, and the engagement with internal and external stakeholders impacted by localization rules and commercial enabling activities. | |
•Develop a prioritized and phased oneGE framework for local content across SSA that is aligned to market opportunities and realities oStrategy development across core and growth countries oHighlight phased localization options based on market opportunity oAggregate localization rules across region and develop compliance & commercial plans oDevelop localization metrics/dashboard to quantify and communicate GE impact. •Support/Co-lead the creation of a tailored country-specific localization toolkit inclusive of financial commitments/incentives, skills development, SME development, stakeholder engagement and other sustainability initiatives •Structure and implement a prioritized stakeholder management strategy and coordinate advocacy for priority stakeholders •Identify, develop, and implement tailored localization programs in partnership with p&l’s and external stakeholders •Develop external local content promoter ecosystem consisting of donors, NGO’s, foundations, industry etc. •Support the coordination of investment decisions across P&L’s, ensuring business case viability and local impact •Support the integration of various GE sustainability initiatives (I.e. Healthymagination, CSR, SME development, skills development etc.) with key regional contacts/stakeholders •Provide leadership and support to Joint Venture agreements in the region by ensuring proper compliance to local laws, commercial viability, and operational plans that are aligned to local mandates. •Liaise with the all the involved functions, in particular Supply Chain, Government relations, Finance, Legal, HR, and communications, in ensuring compliance with various country specific localization laws and commercially viable initiatives | |
•University Degree. Masters qualification is an added advantage •Sound knowledge of compliance and business development across Sub Saharan Africa •Experience with joint venture execution in Sub Saharan Africa •Experience interfacing with government regulatory agencies, NGO’s, foundations and broader industry •Familiar with proposals preparation and extensive project management experience •Excellent presentation and communication skills •5+ years working experience in an Infrastructure related business (I.e. Powergen, O&G, Transportation, etc.) | |
