Under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and the State Ministry of Health for Lakes State, Malteser International manages the Rumbek Health Training School (RHTS). The RHTS is expected to significantly raise the production and quality of training midlevel Human Resources for Health (HRH) and improve their performance. In line this objective, the RHTS is expected to produce at least 106 well training graduates (48 enrolled nurses and 58 laboratory technicians) by early 2016.
To support the teaching staff at the Rumbek Health Trainig School (RHTS) in South Sudan, Malteser International is looking for
2 Tutors - Certified Nurses Course
As Nursing Tutor, you will contribute towards producing at least 48 well qualified enrolled nurses being familiar with high professional standards and professional integrity through qualified tutoring and proper supervision of the students in the project period.
The Nursing Tutor works in line with other tutors and reports directly to the Principal Tutor.

Responsibilities:
- Teaching the nursing students in areas of the relevant competence and in line with the curriculum approved by the Ministry of Health
- Coordinate and closely supervise work of groups during training in wards, using assessments checklist and link the students up with the relevant senior nurse officers
- Prepare the necessary training materials for students
- Help organize and supervise extra-curricular activities for the students, i.e. sport, entertainment, and other events of interest for the students
- Assist the Course Coordinator in compiling the students’ assessments and examination results
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Course Coordinator
- Advise the finance/administration unit on the technical parts of equipment and teaching material that is necessary to procure
The Tutors are expected to perform other duties as becomes necessary in coordination and agreement with the Principal Tutor.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery (or equivalent)
- At least two years of experience in teaching or mentoring students on clinical placements
- Training in tutorship
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of spoken Arabic would be an asset
- Fully computer literate (Microsoft Office and internet)
- South Sudanese nationals are strongly encouraged to apply
