Unilever Tea Kenya Ltd is a leading tea producing company in East Africa, with operations in Kenya (Kericho and Limuru) growing and manufacturing black, green and specialty teas for export.We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual who is passionate about people to fill the position of Senior HR Business Partner based in Kericho.
The successful candidate will help deliver HR support to the plantation business and ensure that HR delivery is fully aligned to the business goal.
Main Accountabilities: The role is part of the HR function reporting to the Unilever HR Director, East Africa and working on a day to day basis as business partner to the plantation business and its Managing Director.
The HR Business Partner will be responsible for
Using knowledge of emerging trends to build innovative HR solutions to respond to short term challenges and create solutions that deliver value in line with the Business and HR plans.
Assessing the talent needs of the organisation in order to design and deliver the most effective talent solutions.
Effectively partners managers to influence them to make the right choices regarding Talent.
Engages & communicates with all employees the vision for effective teams and effective change management
Understanding organisation diagnostic tools and using them to plan and implement a range of organisation development interventions and change acceleration programmes
Coaching and advising business leaders in the optimisation of organisational and team design techniques to improve performance
Working at both the organisational and individual level to assess learning & capability building needs.
Developing an effective ER strategy to facilitate the Business strategy. delivering it through coaching managers, ensuring a strong understanding of employment law and risk mitigation.
Building managers capability in managing performance and reward decisions
Managing HR Budgets
Providing HR insight and analysis to other functions.
Managing the HRBP Administrator team, ensuring effective delivery and execution of all core HR processes.
Leading the delivery of, and the compliance with, Unilever HR policies, processes and local Employment / labour legislation for all employees
Working closely and collaboratively with HRBP, HR Services and HR Expertise teams to share best practice.Candidate Profile
If you are a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 - 15 years relevant experience with good knowledge of Key HR processes, roles and responsibilities across the entire HR lifecycle and relevant experience in ER/IR systems and process in a complex environment, this is the right job for you.
The candidate should be a highly motivated self starter, capable of engaging senior management on any HR related matters.
A people person you network easily, rapidly build trust and establish relations with people whatever their professional or personal background.
You should be familiar with agricultural and / or FMCG businesses and understand the issues faced by a multinational operating as a company with a very strong local identity.
