About Action Africa Help Kenya
ACTION AFRICA HELP - KENYA is a non-governmental organization that addresses development challenges in partnership with marginalized Kenyan communities mainly living in low income settings in urban and rural settings including arid and semi-arid areas (ASALs). AAH Kenya is an affiliate country programme of Action Africa Help International (AAH-I), which has been operating in the East and Southern Africa region for more than 25 years implementing programmes in South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, Somalia and Kenya.
The AAH Kenya, Kakuma Refugee Assistance Programme (KRAP) aims to enhance self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods of 4,080 refugees in Kakuma Camp, Turkana County, through development of models that will address resilience, safety net and consumption; skills enhancement, employment opportunities and enterprise development. AAH-Kenya is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions to be based in Kakuma refugee camp.
Driver
To drive authorized passengers, transport goods and services (information) and ensure programme activities run smoothly, vehicles are clean and in good order always in line with AAH-K policies.
Skills and Qualifications
a) Completion of secondary education or its equivalent.
b) Must possess a valid professional driving license for light and heavy duty vehicles (BCE).
c) Basic mechanical knowledge and skills in operating and maintaining different types of vehicles.
Good knowledge of the topography of the country and full proficiency in local traffic regulations.
d) Proven ability to deal with clients with tact and respect for diversity.
e) At least Three years’ work experience as a driver of which at least 1 year should be relevant NGO experience in community projects and good computer skills.
Housekeeper
The main function of the Housekeeper is to properly and efficiently clean and prepare all guest rooms using various cleaning agents and equipment. S/He will ensure that all residential units are clean to the highest standard of usability.
Qualifications
¨ KCSE certificate level of education preferred
¨ Basic training and experience in housekeeping.
¨ Demonstrated strengths in relationship building, ability to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team-oriented environment;
¨ Literacy in English and Kiswahili languages – ability to speak and write
