Request for proposals for Human trafficking assessment in South Central Somalia

by Unknown  |  at  5:21 AM

IOM Somalia is currently implementing a counter-trafficking project within Puntland, and plans to expand the programme scope to other geographic areas within the country. In particular, IOM would like to expand its scope to cover South Central Somalia, as it has recorded high levels of irregular migrant movements, within and across borders. Due to the current Mediterranean migration crisis, South Central Somalia has been and is a prime source of actual and potential Victims of Human Trafficking (VoT). Further to that, majority of the human trafficking cases assisted by IOM Somalia, transiting through Puntland to European and Arab countries also originate from the region. As human trafficking is a rapidly growing global issue, IOM is addressing trafficking within the scope of managing migration, by creating structures that promote safe, dignified and orderly migration for migrants. Thus, IOM is recruiting a competent consulting firm to conduct an assessment on human trafficking in South Central Somalia.

The objective of the consultancy will be to establish trends of human trafficking and gathering of information aimed at developing programing interventions, to counter trafficking in South Central Somalia.
