PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The job holder will promote the integration of vertical and bilateral/multilateral grants and assist the Health and Nutrition (H&N) Program Development Lead in reviewing and ensuring coherence of regular and ad hoc reports. The job holder will also assist the H&N Program Development Lead in designing and developing Health and Nutrition Proposals
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integration and Management of H&N Portfolio
• Develop actionable integration plan for Health and Nutrition project teams to link beneficiary selection, project monitoring, planning and evaluations across complementary sectors (particularly WASH)—and across existing H&N project models, including EPHS, Global Fund TB, OTP etc.
• Implement the integration of H&N projects
Program reporting & compliance
- Provide timely, and quality program reports to Support Offices and donors for a portfolio of grants assigned to the position;
- With the assistance of M&E aggregate H&N programmatic reporting within the sector to provide a holistic picture of the entire portfolio;
- Raise project implementation challenges and or compliance gaps are raised with the concerned parties for resolution;
· Carry out specific tasks assigned by the H&N Sector lead in building the capacity of implementing staff in reporting and compliance.
Programming & Proposal Development:
• Working closely with the H&N Program Development Lead, develop materials to promote WV’s integrated H&N approach;
• Mobilize and lead cross-functional proposal development teams; anticipate, plan for, and write proposals with high win rate for a portfolio of grants assigned to the position
Support Field start-up processes:
• Lead start-up workshop or processes for a portfolio of grants assigned to the position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- A first degree in Health. A Master’s degree in Public Health or Public Administration will be an added advantage
- Three years implementing complex health and nutrition program in humanitarian or development field, preferably with one or more previous assignments in fragile contexts
- Training in humanitarian standards and donor requirements e.g. Global Fund, OFDA, DFID, EU, ECHO
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Working Environment / Conditions:
- Work environment: Nairobi based
- Travel: 30-40% of domestic and international travel is required for this position. The position requires frequent travel to Somalia, a dynamic and often insecure context
