Dimensions of Role:**
The Project Implementation Officer-Yes I Do- will be responsible for the implementation of the project activities which will cut across two thematic areas of Education & Protection and Economic Empowerment of teenage girls and their families so as to facilitate access education and economic opportunities. S/he will work closely with the Project Coordinator-YID- and the Programme Manager, Child Protection, implementing officers from the consortium, government officers in the various line ministries concerned with children and women, private sector players, community based organizations (CBOs) and targeted girls to provide relevant training, coaching and mentoring in the areas of child rights, Gender Based Violence including Child Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting Sexual Reprodutive Health Rights and Teenage pregnancy, basic financial literacy, entrepreneurship and small business management skills.
S/he will also work directly with MFIs and other financial service institutions providers to develop and promote suitable financial services/products for the targeted girls and their families. S/he will work closely with the community Based Child Protection structures to protect the rights of the girls and ensure equal access to education and economic opportunities as well as work with the girls to build their capacity to make well-informed economic/investment decisions and progressively become self-sustaining social enterprises once out of school
Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position:
Key Result Areas:
· Work in partnerships with the consortium members to fully deliver the objectives of the project
· Build the capacity of the community based leadership both formal and informal to recognize and respond appropriately to violation of protection, education, SRH and economic rights of girls.
· Develop and monthly plans and priorities in line with the approved work plan program priorities.
· Produce accurate and timely reports and success stories to showcase project lessons, and results to contribute to the wider sector and institutional knowledge.
· Ensure compliance with donor requirements and regulations in implementing and reporting of project activities.
· Build the capacity of local CBOs/NGOs to implement similar programs in a technically appropriate way through knowledge transfer, training, development of good practice, evidence based research
· Ensure the adolescent girls and boys are meaningfully involved in developing and implementing sustainable solutions to the challenges facing them in education and economic empowerment.
Reporting and Documentation:
· Regularly collect and review project data to monitor progress, and produce accurate reports.
· Submit complete, accurate and timely reports that conform to prescribed formats and other parameters from Plan and the donor.
· Contribute to documentation and sharing of best practices with stakeholders as appropriate.
Problem Solving:
· Superior communication skills and judgement to identify and evaluate options and identify solutions when dealing with community and partners.
Communications and Working Relationships:
· Maintain active dialogue with consortium partners, local authorities, local organizations, and a wide range of service providers to foster collaboration, ensure alignment with government priorities and standards, and solicit feedback to make regular improvements.
Key Requirements to Achieve Role’s Objectives:
Education, Knowledge & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Education, social work, community development or another relevant field. Qualification and knowledge of project management an added advantage
· 3 years’ experience in working with youth in protection, education and development
· At least 1 year relevant field experience in microfinance sector involving supporting vulnerable groups to access diverse financial services and develop sustainable livelihoods in both rural and urban settings.
· Knowledge and experience of working with young people especially girls to promote savings and loaning associations (VSLAs) and other IGAs
· Evidence of having worked and collaborated with Government line ministries, private sector and other stakeholders in supporting youth to access education support, loan facilities is an added advantage
· Strong writing and communication skills, program reports, case studies, success stories.
· Knowledge and experience in effective development and execution of participatory trainings and child participation methods.
· High level of integrity, values, ethics and a strong passion to empower the poor.
· Creative, innovative and capable of trying something new.

o Proficient in computer skills: including a proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge with different computer programs, both computer and web-based.
o Motorcycle riding skills or willingness to learn: one of the ways to get around will be by motorcycle therefore motorcycle riding skills are a crucial (including a valid riding license).
