The Ministry of Health- Violence and Injury Prevention Unit in collaboration with World Health Organization is implementing a Fatal Injury Surveillance System at Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary. The Data Management Officer will be responsible for the data management procedures at the Mortuary and is to on behalf of the Ministry to fill, store data abstracting form and to enter data. The candidate should have knowledge on computer use and the basic software packages.
Duties
- Ensure that all data collection forms are properly filled using information from post mortem reports and mortuary records
- Properly store and maintain the data forms
- Enter the data on the forms into a software computer
- Performs validation and quality assurance checks on data
- Transmit the entered data weekly to the program coordinators
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
The candidate is required to have:
- Minimum C+ or equivalent in KCSE
- Certificates in Computer competency
- At least one year experience in working in an IT relevant field
- Able to use the internet
Competencies
- Professionalism: Good understanding of the functions of the post, ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Knowledgeable: Good understanding of computer software packages
Experience
Data management skills are required.
