The Programme Development Manager will be the primary grant writer and coordinator for World Vision Sudan. The role will liaise with key donors, Sudan-based programme staff and World Vision Support Office colleagues to develop quality project proposals and expand the Sudan programme’s funding base. The position is based in Nairobi, but with regular travel to Sudan (Khartoum and Darfur).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• With the support of WV colleagues, develop high quality project proposals that: (a) contribute to emergency needs and/or Child Well-Being Outcomes within the parameters of WV Sudan’s national strategy, and (b) are consistent with donor priorities and technical requirements.
• Develop strategic partnerships with donors, UN, NGOs, governments and Support Offices for marketing, fundraising and coordination purposes.
• Take overall responsibility for ensuring that all grant reporting requirements and other compliance aspects are consistently met.
• Proactively coordinate with Operations staff, as necessary, over concerns with grant compliance and project implementation.
• Proactively contribute to the overall work of the PDQA team, particularly with regard to project evaluations, programme strategy development and other priorities identified in the WV Sudan organizational capacity plan.

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
• Master’s degree in relevant field (International Development/International Relations).
• Professional technical skill desired: Humanitarian standards (SPHERE), specific trainings on donor requirements e.g. DEC, GoG Training, EuropeAid training, Security training.
• 5-7 years of field and donor country experience.
• Demonstrated writing and proposal development skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in engaging with donors, colleagues and partner NGOs.
• The position requires ability and willingness to travel to Khratoum and Darfur frequently
