Trocaire has been working in partnership with the Diocese of El Obeid (DoE) since 2011 as a facilitating partner for their emergency response work. Trócaire works in partnership with the Diocese of El-Obeid, under Bishop Macram Max Gassis, to provide medical supplies, food assistance, nutritional support and non-food items (shelter, domestic & cooking equipment, and hygiene supplies) in areas in Sudan. The work of the DoE extends across the wider parish of El Obeid taking in areas of Sudan and South Sudan.
The DoE has had a strong focus on the health and education sectors and recently has up-scaled it's programme work in response to the conflict in South Kordofan. The programme has seen a rapid expansion of operations and a scale up of activities on the ground. The DoE is seeking to recruit an experienced Operations Director who will take the lead on ensuring systems and logistics are streamlined and effective for the work needed in both Sudan and South Sudan.
Person Specification
Essential:
· Post graduate degree, in Public Administration, Financial/Business management, or other relevant field.
· Minimum 10-years’ experience in operations management/ team leadership roles with at least 5 years of experience in the field. A Finance Director position or equivalent would be an advantage.
· Strong operational management experience and capability (finance, people, fundraising), including remote management
· Proven financial management, procurement management and systems management experience
· Proven strategic design and management skills. Including good program and human resource development ability
· Understanding of the countries in which DoE operates and sensitive to the socio cultural context
· Demonstrable strategic thinking and leadership ability
· Excellent analytical and critical thinking ability
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Well-developed ability to motivate and build capacity
· Proven ability to lead and work effectively with others to achieve results
. Understanding and experience of institutional fundraising
