    Kuehne + Nagel seeks to recruit a highly competent and self-driven individual to fill below position.
    Transport Co-ordinator
    Transport Department, Nairobi
    Requirements:
  • Minimum Diploma in Fleet Management.
  • 2 years experience in Logistics and fleet management systems.
  • Leadership skills, computer literate, good communication, organizational & interpersonal skills and team player.
  • Capable of working odd hours/out of station without prior notice.Responsibilities:
  • In charge of air Perishables road freight operations.
  • Plan, direct and co-ordinate the operations, and fleet management system.
  • Ensure cooling truck systems are well maintained and service schedules are well aligned with service provider.
  • Monitor product temperatures in transit and raise a flag where there is a potential problem.
  • Receive and process vehicle accident and damage reports.
  • Have good attributes in public relations which are very crucial in dealing with government bodies especially during accidents.
  • Maintain a register of vehicle’s government statutory requirements.
  • Continually update yourself with changing government policies as far as trucking is concerned.
  • Prepare periodic management and operational reports.
  • Ensure smooth internal and cross-functional communication.
  • Handle customer queries & maintain regular visits.
  • Supervise staff in your department and ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Plan staff offs & annual leave schedules and ensure drivers allowances are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain fleet logs and fuel/mileage reports.
  • Comply with company standards and regulations as identified within the systems.
  • Ensure company trucks are fully utilized prior to engaging subcontractors.
  • Ensuring that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are in order and that all relevant records are maintained.
