Concern Worldwide is an international non-governmental humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Kenyan nationals for the following position:

Reports to: Manager – Education

Contract Details:
Fixed Term One (1) Year Contract Renewable Subject to Availability of Funds and Performance
Monthly Starting Salary - Kes 96,308

Job Summary:
To develop technical capacity of schools and communities in Chalbi, in Marsabit County
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
· Contribute to development of Marsabit quarterly workplan
· Strengthen capacity of communities to identify and address barriers to quality education for Most Vulnerable Children
· Work with MoEST and TSC to improve curriculum delivery
· Work with MoEST and TSC to build capacity of school Boards of Management
· Work with MoEST and TSC to build capacity of school to implement Study Circles using a Child to Child approach
· Conduct monitoring and quality assurance of programme activities
· Support Manager Marsabit and MoEST collect and analyze data to inform the programme
· Generate reports and case studies including most significant change stories
· Market system strengthening approach to local level Government and Civil Society actors
· Represent Concern in Ward and Sub County meetings
Responding to Emergencies:
· Participate and contribute as necessary towards Concern’s Emergency response as and when necessary
· Comply with Concern’s health, safety and security guidelines during emergencies
Programme Participant Protection Policy
· To adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and Concern Code of Conduct.
Job Specification:
· A degree in education (primary option) or P1 teacher qualification
· At least two (2) years’ experience in applying participatory approach in an education programme. Experience working in an international NGO that works with and through partners in a development and emergency context is an added advantage.
· A Trainer of Trainer in participatory and adult learning technique
· Working knowledge of Project Cycle Management
· Good understanding of cross cutting issues - gender, HIV and AIDS, DRR
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
· Proficient in Computer applications
· Fluent in both spoken and written English and Kiswahili. Fluency in local language/s skills is an added advantage.
· Willingness and ability to work and live in Maikona, Turbi, Kalacha and Hurri Hillis in Marsabit
