Kenyatta University wishes to recruit qualified and dedicated applicants for vacant positions in the Department of Pathology in the School of Medicine:School of medicine
Department of Human Pathology
i. Associate professor
Qualifications:
PhD Degree in Medical Parasitology from a recognized university
At least eight (8) years of university teaching, four (4) of which as full-time Senior Lecturer
Successfully supervised at least four (4) Masters students and one (1) PhD student, since being appointed Senior Lecturer
At least four (4) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as a Senior Lecturer
Evidence of successfully applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed as a Senior Lecturer
Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars and workshopsii. Lecturer
Qualification:
PhD Degree in any of the following fields from a recognized university. Holders of MMED Degree in these fields will also be considered:
Haematology
Clinical Chemistry
Anatomic Pathology
Registered by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board and have specialist rec. Have attained the professional level of Consultant and have university teaching and/or research experienceiii. Tutorial fellow
Qualifications:
M.Sc. Degree in any of the following fields from a recognized university:
Medical Microbiology
Immunology
Prepared to pursue PhD Degree in the area of specializationiv. Technician - Grade C/D
Qualifications:
KCE Division II or KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and above
Higher National Diploma (HND) in Microbiology from a recognized institution
At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy teaching, research or hospital laboratory
Computer literatev. Technician - Grade A/B
Qualifications:
KCE Division III or KCSE Mean Grade C (plain) and above
Diploma in Histopathology from a recognized institution
At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy teaching, research or hospitallaboratory
Computer literateTerms and service:
For teaching positions above Tutorial Fellow employment will be on permanent and pensionable terms.
Tutorial Fellows are employed on one (1) year renewable contract, to the maximum of three (3) years.
The terms for non-teaching positions include a generous medical scheme, house allowance andcommuting allowance.
Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance-based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.
