About ABPP
The Africa Biogas Partnership Programme (ABPP) is a partnership between Hivos and SNV in supporting national programmes on domestic biogas in five African countries. Our overall objective is to formulate, develop and set in motion strategies, policies, plans, measures, systems and approaches that support private sector led biogas sector development aimed at sustainable improvement of the livelihoods of rural and peri-urban households.
Job context
ABPP is seeking a mature, self-motivated individual to build a strong national biogas brand to boost the dissemination of top-quality biogas products and services in Kenya.
The Quality Manager – Client Service Manager reports to the Programme Manager and has responsibility for all quality management and client service provision related activities of the programme. S/he will develop and implement a biogas quality management system that provides accurate monitoring of quality of biogas plant construction and after sales service, allowing quick remedial action when necessary. The Quality Manager - Client Service Manager will develop and introduce a comprehensive quality management system. S/he will work closely with other team members to develop the programme, its mission, brand and biogas sector support programmes.
Your responsibilities
- Development and Introduction/ improvement of a comprehensive quality management system monitoring of an outsourced client service centre to:
- Facilitate optimal customer service provision;
- Track and monitor the performance of biogas digesters;
- Certify biogas construction enterprises.
- Planning, implementing, supervising and reporting of the programme’s quality management system;
- Initiation, commissioning, monitoring and evaluation of the programme’s R&D activities;
- Development, standardization and documentation of biogas plant designs and appliances and related services;
- Support the implementation of all technical training and extension programmes in biogas and bioslurry utilizations.
Your profile
- BA degree in civil, environmental engineering or related discipline. National Diploma or degree in business and commerce is an added advantage;
- 5 years of relevant working experience, in commercial and/or social enterprises, preferably in the renewable energy sector;
- Proven experience in building and managing quality management systems;
- Experience with client/customer (after)-sales service provision;
- Experience in climate-smart energy programmes is an added advantage;
- Relationships with renewable energy technical institutions;
- Knowledge of, skills and abilities in: strong networking and negotiation skills; end user client management; project management and time management; needs and challenges in rural communities; customer centric approach; working autonomously with limited direction;
- Behavioural Characteristics: Strong team player, with the ability to take the lead; analytical and quantitative skills affinity with pro-poor social issues and insight into rural communities; creative judgment and critical thinking ability; comfortable working in rural settings; entrepreneurial; excellent communication - oral and writing English skills; results oriented; business awareness; passion; initiative; high level of integrity;
- Strong network in the private sector (Renewable Energy, Agriculture and/or other relevant subsectors) in Kenya;
- Willingness to intensively travel in Kenya.
What we offer
We offer a competitive package based on qualifications. The contract duration is 1 year (extendable).
