Background: I Choose Life – Africa (ICL) is one of the leading Non-Governmental Organizations that has contributed greatly to Sexual Reproductive Health efforts among the youth in Kenya today. The organization works closely with the government, universities, communities and has programs in over 234 institutions (tertiary institutions and high schools) across 23 Counties in Kenya and reaches over 1 million youth annually with behavior change communication messages.

Job purpose: The Finance Intern will support the finance team in ensuring finance processes are followed and the projects are supported efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure statutory requirements are processed within the deadlines. Ensure accounts comply with internal accounting procedures, donor regulations and legal provisions
• Ensure proper bookkeeping, maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare bank reconciliation, debtors and creditors reconciliation
• File payment vouchers ,receipts, stamping them paid and following up any issue raised during internal audit
• Assist in budget preparation, ensure its proper implementation to minimize variance
• Processing payments, releasing cheques and ensuring all suppliers and service providers are paid on time
• Receive financial reports from the field, and identify issues
• Ensuring that all procurement procedures and policies are adhered to
• Ensure petty cash and working advances are well accounted for before presented to project accountant
• Assist in preparing and filing management financial reports and donor reports
• Prepare reimbursements invoices and send them to the donor for payment.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Degree in Accounting or Finance or its equivalent.
• CPA II
• A minimum of 1 year; experience in any organization preferably in the finance or accounts department will be an added advantage.
