Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) was established in 1992 as the main implementing agency for Turkey's technical cooperation policy. TİKA Nairobi Program Coordination Office has been in operation in Kenya since 2012. The agency is responsible for coordinating Turkey's technical cooperation projects and programs in partner countries. TİKA's priority areas are health, good governance, education, communication, tourism, agriculture and forestry, women empowerment and water supply and sanitation. Its main goal is to ensure sustainable social and economic development through technical cooperation and improve the lives of people. To achieve this objective, the Office has undertaken several projects in partnership in Kenya with the central government, local authorities, educational institutions, NGOs and communities from various parts of Kenya. TİKA continues to work with 50 Program Coordination Offices in partner countries and realizes projects and activities in over 100 countries.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator.
General Duties:
Assisting and representing the organization on all legal matters.
Liasing with government agencies and other stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with principles and values of good governance
Identifying issues and areas for policy formulation and reform
Reviewing contracts, agreements, memoranda and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
Ensure that TIKA complies with legal and statutory obligations by monitoring changes in relevant legislation and regulatory environment and advising the organization appropriately
Qualifications:
· A university degree or advanced diploma in International Relations, Development Studies, Project Management or related fields

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
· Degree in law
· Postgraduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law, preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in the practice of law with a law firm, a government and/or an international organization legal office
Language Requirements:
· Excellent command of oral and written English;
· Ability to speak and draft with knowledge of legal terminology in Turkish highly desirable.
