THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
The duties are, but not limited to:
- CAP and CHF funding cycle and proposal review: support End year review, drafts and revision. Conduct proposal monitoring, data-base training coordination. Ensure using Client Service approach, work closely with HC Member on issues regarding CAP eligibility. Assist the Health Cluster Coordinator with the review, vetting and short-listing process of high priority Consolidated Appeal Process proposals in the final CAP document. Organize and prepare reports of the technical deliberations of CRC meetings and facilitate the dissemination of feedback to partners based on the CRC decision making process for CAP proposals.
- Providing logistical and operational support to HC in-house functions including health cluster meetings in Nairobi.
- Support the on-going development of HC Monthly Bulletin and health services gap analysis based on information collected from regular partner feedback on the consolidated templates.
- Support strategic and operational decision making by processing and analyzing data and information and presenting it in the format most useful for analysis (e.g. reports, maps).
- Liaise with OCHA’s Public Information Unit on the development of visual products and data-capturing systems in order to provide an effective service to cluster members and the humanitarian community as a whole.
- Gather and maintain Health cluster 4w Matrix as Well as Mapping Health resources and services Using HeRAMS database
- Compilation and submission of Monthly single report (SRF) to OCHA
- Support the training of Health cluster Partners on use of online 4w/HeRAMS Database as well as other data entry forms, tools and platforms that they will use to provide information to health cluster.
- Establish and maintain an information network at the national level to facilitate humanitarian information exchange and the promotion of data and information sharing protocols, in particular those developed and endorsed by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee.
- Knowledge of the use of information management tools in a humanitarian emergency setting, crisis management or disaster management contexts.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION: Essential: University degree in health or any related field
Desirable: Public health training and or disaster management trainings.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :
• Ability to work in team. • Ability to work against tight deadlines
EXPERIENCE
Required : • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in working for humanitarian program, disaster management or recovery context. • Relevant international field experience in any of the mentioned areas.
• Fluent writing skills in English, as well as excellent spoken. Any other UN language is an advantage. • Must have a University Degree from a reputable, institution of higher education. • Candidate must have a professional experience with Microsoft software packages.

Desirable: • Database and web-based information management experience. • Proven, previous experience in project management and support. • Experience in health cluster functions is an asset.
DURATION • The duration of the temporary support is for 6 months, starting from 15 July 2013.
LANGUAGES: Fluent in English and the local language for speaking, reading, writing, drafting and translating.
