We are seeking a qualified person for the position of Technical Advisor - Family Planning who will;
Lead on the provision of technical and programmatic advice on family planning (FP) within IPPF’s Africa Region to support IPPF’s involvement in a global multi-year project to increase access to, and use of, high quality, affordable FP and other health information, products and services globally. With international travel, will work with the donor, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), USAID partners and other global and local partners to oversee and implement multi-country, comprehensive FP/reproductive health (RH) projects.
Requires a minimum of five years’ experience in RH/FP programme management in developing countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Technical knowledge of broader SRHR service delivery approaches, health systems strengthening and health markets is essential along with a gender and rights perspective. Must have a sound technical knowledge of RH/FP research, and experience of designing and managing evidence-based programmes. Experience managing a multi-country project is essential, and experience managing or providing support to USAID funded initiatives is preferred.
Have an excellent project and time management skills including donor reporting experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills with fluent English are essential. Must have excellent analytical and budget skills. Must have a degree in Public health, social science or a related field.
