AWF is seeking a high performing and motivated individual who will be responsible for administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.The HR Officer carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas; payroll administration, contract management, Human Resources Information System ( HRIS), employee relations, database and website management, benefits management recruitment, leave administration and on boarding processes.
This is a global position that would support HR functions across the organization.
This position reports to the Human Resources and Administration Manager.
Responsibilities
Generating employment offer letters and contracts, managing physical and electronic filing, coordinating recruitments.
Assisting with the development of TORs/job descriptions, posting advertisements, responding to applications, short-listing candidates, scheduling interviews.
Assisting in selection process and preparing recruitment reports.
Administering AWF’s Kenya payroll, coordinating the International payroll and reviewing field office payroll working with payroll providers and field Finance staff.
Ensuring timely payroll disbursement and compliance with statutory requirements.
Assisting with the Administration of the staff retirement savings plans, ensuring compliance with plan terms and timely submission of staff contributions, and responding timely to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
Compiling inflation and forex exchange information for AWF’s countries of operation and share with the Director of Human Resources and Administration to inform Cost of Living Adjustments.
Act as liaison as required between staff and benefits administrators, track other contractual benefits such as expatriate home leave, relocation and repatriation, tax-equity adjustments, acting allowances and process expatriate work permits.
Updating the HRIS, assisting with the performance management process, tracking employee contracts status, carrying out regular maintenance of HR site on the Intranet, updating & maintain the HR metrics and dash board.
Assisting with compilation, updating and maintaining a detailed benefits schedule for all AWF offices.
Arranging relevant events as needed.
Providing administrative support to the HR department on a daily basis.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labour Relations, Psychology or related.
Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management required
At least 4 years progressive experience in a non-profit organization and/or Human Resources.
Proven experience in an international context.
Previous experience in database management.
Excellent organizational skills: able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Ability to provide good customer service with patience and a sense of urgency.
Professional, diplomatic and thoughtful communication skills.Strong Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with HRIS systems or able to learn.
Cultural sensitivity.
Fluency written and spoken English is a must. French fluency and Kiswahili is an advantage.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
High emotional intelligence.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with the highest level of professionalism.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong level of competence with Excel, accounting/HRIS and payroll systems.To Apply
