JOB SUMMARY:
IMC is seeking a Business Official to coordinate matters related to grant award and administration for a CDC monitoring and evaluation program in Kenya. The program will build health care worker capacity to define, interpret and calculate HIV/AIDS indicators and create an effective feedback system for optimizing use of HIV/AIDS data. The program will build the Ministry of Health’s capacity to monitor and evaluate HIV/AIDS programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Using extensive knowledge of CDC regulations, administer grant requirements and act as the designated IMC representative in matters related to grant award and administration.
• Establish standards and procedures to ensure the program’s effectiveness and efficiency, maintaining compliance to IMC and donor policies and procedures. Ensure that standards and procedures are followed by all IMC, partner and participating GOK staff.
• Develop, review and provide guidance on subgrants, to ensure compliance with donor and IMC regulations and policies. Conduct training for IMC subgrantees as required.
• In coordination with the IMC Kenya team, develop monthly pipelines and monitor grant budgets to ensure compliance with donor requirements. Review and provide guidance on significant procurement actions undertaken with donor funds.
• Ensure the appropriate use of funds awarded and the performance of the grant-supported activities as specified in the approved application. Conduct due diligence to ensure that that CDC funds are not diverted from their development purpose outlined in the grant and are not vulnerable to corruption. Coordinate with Principal Investigator and other relevant staff to assure project transparency and accountability in use of CDC funding.
• Maintain all key related information/documentation for awarded instruments, including but not limited to, grant documents, extensions, modifications, contracts, subawards, MoUs, key correspondences, and other relevant documents. Skills & Requirements: Skills & Requirements:
• Graduate degree
• At least 5 years of experience with development grants and contracts management
• Strong working knowledge of CDC donor regulations and requirements
Other Relevant Information (if applicable): LANGUAGES
• Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret, technical and non-technical in the English language.
• Knowledge of Kiswahili is desired.
