Fondazione L’Albero Della Vita Onlus (FADV) is an international development organization headquartered in Milan – Italy. Since 1997 L’Albero della Vita works for the protection and the promotion of the rights of the most vulnerable people, especially children and women, with the purpose of improving the quality of their life. FADV is operating with the primary objective to promote and protect children basic rights along with improving the quality of living conditions of the marginalized people, with special emphasis on children and women. FADV is currently implementing a Child Protection Program in Government Children’s Institutions in Nairobi and Kiambu counties, Kenya. The Child Protection Project Manager will ensure the proper management of a Child Protection related project supporting project planning, coordination, procurement, sectorial assessment The Project Manager reports to FADV Program Coordinator.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the implementation and management of project’s activities, in close collaboration with the Program Coordinator and local partners.
- Ensure programming is being implemented and indicators are being met in order to meet project deliverables.
- Provide technical support for the child protection program through support to field staff and partner organizations.
- Develop and regularly update a detailed implementation plan in accordance with the approved project’s timeframe and budget.
- Prepare narrative and financial reports on monthly basis.
- Carry out regular review meetings with partners.
- Keep an efficient organization of the field office and the staff employed in the project.
- Support the Program Coordinator in developing concept notes and new project proposals.
- Identify local organizations or groups working to address child protection concerns.
- Coordinate and networking with government and international and national NGOs working in the child protection sector.
- Represent FADV in technical meetings with donors and stakeholders; carry out representation and coordination duties in cluster/sector meetings.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- Bachelor Degree in social sciences, psychology, child protection, social development, or a related technical field. A master degree on the mentioned disciplines is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in Child Protection sector.
- Previous experience of project management, including supervision of staff and budgeting.
- Clear professional expertise and current knowledge of child protection, child rights and organizational development.
- Ability to write analytical but clear and concise assessment and project reports.
- Proven ability of successful networking and co-operation with various partners.
- Result-oriented and problem-solving aptitude.
- Good attitude to team building.
- Strong monitoring and evaluation skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Home and Business.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Facilitation skills.
- Experience of preparing funding proposals for donors.
